Jak napisać recenzję po angielsku na egzaminie B2 First (FCE)?

W ramach serii wpisów przygotowujących do egzaminu B2 First (FCE) pod kątem pisania różnych form wypowiedzi pisemnych zapraszam na kolejny wpis, w którym omówię pisanie recenzji po angielsku. W poprzednim wpisie pokazałam, jak napisać raport po angielsku.

1. Struktura recenzji na egzaminie B2 First (FCE)
Recenzja na egzaminie B2 First (FCE) powinna zawierać ciekawy tytuł oraz składać się z kilku akapitów. We wstępie określamy, co będziemy recenzować oraz staramy się przykuć uwagę czytelnika. W dalszej części recenzji kluczowe jest przedstawienie własnej opinii na poszczególne aspekty zawarte w zadaniu (np. na temat głównych bohaterów, fabuły, zwrotów akcji). Nasza opinia na dany aspekt powinna być poparta odpowiednim wyjaśnieniem lub przykładem. W zakończeniu podsumowujemy recenzję oraz przedstawiamy naszą rekomendację.
Jeśli chodzi o język, to powinien być on barwny i żywy. Aby recenzja była interesująca dla czytelnika, należy użyć różnorodnych przymiotników. Pisząc recenzję warto unikać powtórzeń. Poza tym polecam stosować spójniki i frazy łączące (linking words) oraz zróżnicowane konstrukcje składniowe.

Last week, I attended a rock festival, where bands such as Nirvana, ACDC and Pink Floyd played. It took place in London, on a big stage near the London Eye, and lasted three days.
The participants at this festival were very friendly and polite, so everybody had a great time.
We talked with each other, sang and danced during performances.
I love rock so for me this festival was fantastic. The best part of it was Nirvana’s performance as they are my favourite band. I didn’t like Pink Floyd’s performance because they played poorly and behaved rudely and were unkind to the fans.
I would recommend this festival to anyone who likes rock but not only to them. If you want to chill out or go to a first festival in your life – have a try here. You won’t be disappointed even if you don’t like rock at all. It is definitely worth seeing!

I have recently read ‘Macbeth’, it is a drama written by William Shakespeare. This book is about greed and ambition, which together lead towards defeat.
The main character, Macbeth, was a brave knight and a kind person, who was loyal to the king, his uncle. But after meeting three witches, his greed defeated wisdom. He killed his uncle and became the king of Scotland. Later he killed a few more people and turned into a tyrant. None of his subjects liked him so he died because of the rebellion.
Macbeth’s behaviour after change was very surprising, he always was pleasant and friendly, so nobody could even think that truly he was cruel.
I know that ‘Macbeth’ is a set book in some schools, but it is worth reading. I would definitely recommend this book because it tackles an important topic – the evil, which, after 500 years, is still a serious problem.
Task 3
Your class wants to go on a camping weekend. Your teacher has asked you to write a review of a campsite where you stayed recently, including information about the area and facilities and explaining why it would be suitable for your class.
Campsite Blue Lake
I have been on a campsite by Blue Lake recently. It was a wonderful time with beautiful nature and amazing views. I wasn’t bored at all.
This campsite is suitable for bigger groups of people. They have a huge place for sleeping and a big canteen with tasty meals. Every day there is a different menu. They have also vegan menu and menu for kids.
The campsite has a place for tents, campers or they can rent small houses for 2-5 people. You can also rent boats, kayaks, equipment for swimming, etc. They have also a big pitch for volleyball and football.
I need to tell something more about Blue Lake. Water is clear and we can swim there all day because there is a life guard who provides safety.
Campsite Blue Lake is a suitable place for our holiday because this place is comfortable for big groups and there are a lot of activities to do during the day. Additionally, they have tasty meals and landscapes are breathtaking.
