Cechy geograficzne – Słownictwo angielskie (B2 First – FCE)

W poprzednim wpisie w ramach serii przygotowującej do egzaminu B2 First (FCE) opublikowałam słownictwo związane z dźwiękami i światłami. Z kolei w dzisiejszym wpisie omówię słownictwo związane z cechami geograficznymi. W dalszej części wpisu przedstawię:
podstawowe cechy geograficzne,

The Seychelles are a group of islands in the Indian Ocean.
The Strait of Gibraltar is at the western entrance to the Mediterranean.
The Thames flows through London.
The Volga flows into the Caspian Sea.

3. Góry, rzeki i morza – B2 First (FCE)
MOUNTAIN

We met at the foot of the mountain and started hiking.
A glacier is a large mass of ice that moves slowly.
K2 is one of the most difficult peaks to climb.
A ridge is a long narrow high part of a mountain.

The Mississippi River has a massive delta.
An estuary is the wide part of a river at its mouth.
A source is the place where a river starts.
The Soła and the Narew are tributaries of the Vistula River.
The village is located in the valley.
The highest waterfall in the world is in Venezuela and it’s called Angel Falls.

He swam in the direction of the shore.

We walked across the stream because it was quite shallow.
I can’t stand at the top of a steep cliff because I’m scared of heights.
Mountain rivers can be turbulent.
