Today we’re going to focus on landscape features so we’re still in the topic of the environment. Let’s go to Poland’s geography first.
Poland’s geography in a nutshell
Poland is located in Central-East Europe. Its location is important for the transport and trade in Europe. Polish coastline is over 440 kilometres long and quite varied, with the Bay of Pomerania and the Gulf of Gdańsk. The longest river in Poland, the Vistula, rises at Barania Góra in the south of Poland and flows through entire Poland to its estuary in Gdańsk. The Polish Tatras are the highest mountain ranges in Poland, and the north-western summit of Rysy is the highest peak. The largest lakes in Poland are in the Masuria region of Poland and are located in Masurian Lake District which consists of more than 2 000 lakes.
