Vocabulary – In a restaurant
Last time we went shopping on our blog. It’s well-known that after shopping everyone is hungry. So where can we go? There are at least few places where you can eat something delicious. Which one is your favourite? My weakness is fast food which obviously is very unhealthy but tasty.
If you want to have a cup of tea or coffee, the best place to choose is a cosy and elegant café. You can also eat something small there, e.g. a cake, biscuits or doughnut.
Bars and pubs are meant to drink alcohol and soft drinks. You can also grab there something to eat – some salty snacks (chips, peanuts, pistachio nuts).
If you’d like to celebrate a special occasion, you can choose a sophisticated restaurant, but be prepared to pay a high bill.
Another option is a fast food restaurant. It’s good if you want to get quickly a hot meal and you don’t care about the quality of the food. Take-away is quite similar to fast-food restaurant. It serves snacks and meals which can be taken home to eat.

When it comes to eating in a restaurant we usually begin with starters which are small appetizers, e.g. a tomato soup (zupa pomidorowa), grilled prawns (grilowane krewetki), green salad (sałatka z zielonym ogórkiem i zieloną papryką).
Then is time for the main course. If you’re not a vegeterian, you can order meat with vegetables – e.g. steak with potatoes and cabbage (stek z ziemniakami i kapustą). If you don’t eat meat, don’t worry. There are many dishes without meat. You can eat a smoked salmon with green beans (wędzony łosoś z zieloną fasolką) or a vegetable curry (potrawka z warzyw).
After the main course you can take a dessert, but only if you have enough place in your stomach 🙂

BURGER WITH CHIPS (hamburger z frytkami)
DESSERT (deser), e.g. apple pie (szarlotka)
At the end, I’d like to look at different ways of cooking food:
